The audio files found on this site are student work and were not developed with commercial purposes in mind. In fact, 'PsyPhy Neutrino Flux' exclusively contains samples borrowed from numerous other un-licensed sources (please see cuts for full details on samples used), and I'm uncertain of the origin of some of the other samples students used in their own 'seed' projects which provided the basis of many sounds included on 3 of the other selections here. 'The Boggler' also was an exercise in working with peer-swapped samples - of an indeterminate origin. 'Gallium Detector' is actually the only totally original composition featured here, with sounds completely created from the floor up by E23 - but that's not to say there aren't plenty of original sounds in the other 'seed' mixes either.

Of course we live in an age of postmodern appropriation, where audio artists in particular find themselves referencing subculture through snippets which are borrowed (or as Charles Ives called it early in the 20th Century, 'quoted'). In an ideal world, artists thrive on creativity with no concern for monetary compensation; that not being the case, it seems equally infractuous for listeners to have to deal with the police-state tactics of organizations like the RIAA. Either way, the purpose of this e.p. was to assemble interesting sounds in entertaining and hopefully edifying ways - not to cheat anyone of anything, and certainly not to lay claim to someone else's art as my own. As a result, I have attempted to document sources used, where it is known to me, in the cuts section of this site.
